Our safeguarding service can help your organisation explore safeguarding risks in relation to an individual, a practice or an incident.
Organisations may commission us as an independent investigator where they require impartial investigation or do not have sufficient capacity or expertise within the organisation.
We begin with an initial consultation to develop a clear understanding of the concerns raised, establish whether any necessary statutory agencies have been informed, and agree the scope and terms of the investigation. This provides an opportunity to clarify the key questions to be addressed and identify the information and evidence required.
We provide an outline of the investigation schedule and maintain communication with the commissioning organisation throughout the process, providing updates following key stages of the investigation. We aim to conduct investigations in a thorough, fair and proportionate manner, with careful consideration of the available evidence and the perspectives of those involved.
A comprehensive report is provided at the conclusion of the investigation, setting out the process undertaken, evidence considered, analysis and findings, together with appropriate next steps and recommendations where within the agreed scope. Upon receipt of the report you will be offered a complimentary feedback session.

Investigation fees are agreed following an initial consultation and are based on the scope and complexity of the investigation. A clear fee proposal will be provided before the investigation begins, including the anticipated scope of work and any agreed additional costs.
An independent safeguarding investigation does not replace statutory safeguarding processes or criminal investigations. Where concerns require referral to the police, children's social care, adult social care, the LADO or another statutory agency, these processes should be initiated as appropriate.
