
Background
Dr Sarah Osunsanya is a qualified & registered Clinical Psychologist with nearly two decades of experience in mental health and social care. She began her career in the charity sector, providing service management across diverse areas including deaf mental health services, adult and child learning disabilities, and drug and alcohol services. In 2017, she joined the East London NHS Foundation Trust, gaining experience in Forensic Mental Health care, Substance Use services and Accident & Emergency (A&E) psychiatric liaison before qualifying as a clinical psychologist with a focus on child and adolescent mental health.
Current Roles & Work
Alongside private work, Sarah currently works in London, UK as a Clinical Supervisor in a Mental Health Support Team (MHST) within a local authority working to support schools. She also works as a Specialist Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Practitioner within the National Health Service (NHS).
Interests and Specialisms
Sarah has a particular interest in working with underserved and niche populations, those whom services often struggle to reach and connect with. She is specialises in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Narrative Therapy, and is also experienced with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and systemic approaches.
In addition to her clinical work, Sarah serves as a charity trustee for a rehabilitation-focused drug and alcohol charity in London and volunteers as a British sign language (BSL) interpreter within her church community. Her work reflects a deep commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and equity in mental health care.
Qualifications, Registrations & Education
Sarah is registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and holds a MSc in Psychology and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. She is also currently undertaking a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Supervision.
